নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার পেলেন ইথিওপিয়ার প্রধানমন্ত্রী আবে আহমেদ

শত্রুতা মুছে দিয়ে বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ সহবস্থানের স্বীকৃতি। ২০১৯ সালে নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারে সম্মানিত করা হল আবি আহমেদকে। প্রতিবেশী ইরিত্রিয়ার সঙ্গে শান্তি স্থাপনের অবিরাম প্রচেষ্টার জন্যই রয়াল সুইডিশ সোসাইটির বিচারে নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারের জন্য চূড়ান্ত হয়েছে তাঁর নাম।

প্রসঙ্গত, ১৯৯৮ থেকে ২০০০ সাল অবধি ইথিওপিয়া এবং ইরিত্রিয়ার মধ্যে বজায় ছিল দীর্ঘদিনের শত্রুতার সম্পর্ক। বছরের পর বছর ধরে চলা এই সম্পর্ককে ২০১৮ সালে পুনরুদ্ধার করেন আবি আহমেদ।

স্যর আলফ্রেড নোবেলের মৃত্যুদিনে (১০ ডিসেম্বর) নরওয়ের ওসলোতে ন মিলিয়ন সুইডিশ ডলার মূল্যের এই পুরস্কার প্রদান করা হয়। ১৮৯৫ সালে এই পুরস্কার দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

পাঁচ সদস্যর নরওয়ের নোবেল ইনস্টিটিউটের চেয়ারপার্সন বেরিট রেয়-আন্ডারসন বলেন, আবে আহমেদের নাম নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারের জন্য ঘোষণা করার কারণ তিনি বহুবছর ধরে প্রতিবেশি রাষ্ট্র ইরিত্রিয়ার সঙ্গে শত্রুতার সম্পর্ককে বর্তমানে একটি সুস্থ সম্পর্কে পরিণত করতে সফল হয়েছেন। এমনকি ২০১৮ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর ইরিত্রিয়ার প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে "শান্তি এবং বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ" সহবস্থানের একটি চুক্তিপত্রও স্বাক্ষর করেন।
