মিলখা সিং- উড়ন্ত শিখ নাম পেয়েছিলেন পাকিস্তানের রাষ্ট্রপতির কাছ থেকে। ১৯৫৮ সালে কমলওয়েলথ গেমসে সোনাজয়ী, চারবার এশিয়ান গেমসে সোনাজয়ী মিলখা ১৯৬০ সালের রোম অলিম্পিকে বিশ্বরেকর্ড করেও পদক হাতছাড়া করেন। ১৯৫৯ সালে পদ্মশ্রী সম্মান পান তিনি। তবে খেলাধুলার জগতে আসার আগে তিনি ১৯৫১ সালে ভারতীয় সেনায় যোগ দেন মিলখা। এশিয়ান গেমসে অসামান্য পারফরম্যান্সের পর সিপাই থেকে জেসিও পদে পদোন্নতি হয় তাঁর।

রাজ্যবর্ধন সিং রাঠোর- বিন্দ্রার সোনা জেতার আগে ২০০৪ সালে এথেন্স অলিম্পিকে শুটিংয়ে রুপো জেতেন রাজ্যবর্ধন। শুটিংয়ে প্রথম ভারতীয় হিসাবে ব্যক্তিগত বিভাগে পদক জেতেন রাজ্যবর্ধন। কিন্তু খেলাধুলো ছাড়াও তিনি ভারতীয় সেনার নিযুক্ত ছিলেন। ১৯৯০ সালে নাইনথ গ্রেনেডিয়ার রেজিমেন্টে যোগ দেন রাজ্যবর্ধন। ১৯৯২ সালে লিউটেন্যান্ট পদে উন্নতি হয় তাঁর। ২০০০ সালে মেজর হন তিনি, এর পর ২০০৯ সালে কর্নেল পদে উন্নতি হয়। রাজ্যবর্ধন সেই বছর কার্গিল যুদ্ধেও দেশের জন্য লড়াই করেন।
